Marco Bocola, Dr. rer. nat. is currently Director of Bioinformatics and Data Science at Enzymaster Bioengineering Ningbo / Düsseldorf and lecturer for Bioinformatics at University of Applied Sciences Aachen. He is CEO and founder of of ProteDes , Protein Engineering and Design Consulting and served as Biomolecular Simulation Scientist, SeSaM Biotec GmbH. He has been Head of Computational Biotechnology at RWTH Aachen University and PI for Computational Protein Evolution at University of Regensburg after a PostDoc at Max Planck Inst. for coal research with Prof. Reetz/Prof Thiel in the field of enantioselective biocatalysis. He is active in the field of computer aided protein design for 20 years and published more than 80 publications in high ranking journals (Nature Comm, Chem Comm, JACS, Angew. Chemie, ACS Catalysis etc.) and several patents. He received a Wenner Gren Stipend at Stockholm University and was awarded with the Phoenix price for pharmazeutical biology 2010/2017 and CERC3 award for young chemists on Computer Modelling of Chemical and Biochemical Systems.
